AIR TRAVEL

Alpi Eagles: Licence Suspended

The airline Alpi Eagles, which recently had to deal with serious financial problems, is obliged to stay on the ground at the moment. Its authorisation was suspended for an unknown period of time by the national office for Civil Air Transport ENAC. The appeal of the airline against this decision was rejected by the regional administration court (TAR) of Latium in the middle of January 2008. Thus, at the moment it is not clear if or when the Italian airline will get back the licence and be able to take off again.
Numerous consumers are now affected by the cancelling of already booked flights. In order to get a reimbursement for the tickets that could not be used it is absolutely necessary to safe all documents carefully. Moreover, the passengers have to claim the reimbursement of the ticket as well as the compensation for the additional costs deriving from the purchase of another ticket by a registered letter with reply. You can find a sample letter as well as more information about your rights as an airplane passenger on our homepage.
