It defines a compensation up to 1288 SDRs, which is about 1600 Euro depending on the exchange rate.
In case of a delayed baggage it is important to be careful and to buy only necessary goods: indeed, a compensation is provided only for necessary purchases.
The complaint must be registered within 21 days from the day when you receive your baggage back.

It defines a compensation up to 1288 SDRs, which is about 1600 Eur depending on the exchange rate. The European Court's decision on the 6th May 2010 (C-63/09) established that the compensation encompasses the material damage as well as the immaterial ones.
Sample Letter - Claim of Insurance Protection for Withdrawal If a consumer is no longer able to take part in a journey because of certain reasons (sickness, death, pregnancy...) he/she can withdraw in some cases from the contract without costs. Such a claim is only possible on condition that a special insurance for withdrawal was made in advance. Such an insurance protects you from paying for the holiday if unforeseeable events prevent you from going on the travel. These events are defined in the insurance policy, please read it carefully!
In such cases, the event must be immediately reported to the travel agency and the insurance company.
